Ranger's Ramblings: Woes and Whinings

Well, as it turns out, I have taken almost too many blogger sabbaticals, therefore I have deserted the blog for a couple of weeks.        This was not intentional, it just...happened.   I let my laziness make me drift off to other web pursuits.   (I am making a social networking site...)

It's quickly becoming very very time consuming, and I apologize for that very much.  *nodnod*

I've also been making videos....ALL LE VIDEOS...  Well, 1 or 2....it's just very complicated to make them with the process that I must endure when I edit.    (I have a weird camera/editing setup)

Recently I have been tumbling quite a bit, and you can find that blog on my sidebar here, if you want to see my quick posts when I can't sit down and pound out a normal one.

Ranger's Ramblings: Of Irrational Fears and Garlic Scented T-shirts.

Summer has now subsided.   Let us now take a brief moment to weep and/or celebrate this seasonal change.

There are many things which we, as humans are generally afraid of.
In this case, I am referring to mosquitoes.
That's right, those small creatures that buzz incessantly around your ear like a 6 year old to a talking wal-mart display.
Not to mention the fact that they suck your blood, leave itchy dots and have a nasty habit of spreading diseases willy nilly.

So, as most of you probably know by now, there have been some rather nasty outbreaks of West Nile Virus traveling about thee southern United States.        Normally I would just nod and go on about my normal life, but...this time, I am eligible, if you will to contract this nasty bug, due to where I live.

I must also be sure to let you all know that the chances of this happening are very, very slim, but it will at least set up the situation surrounding the rest of the post.

Although I can't remember if I have mentioned this here or not, my mother is a very....cautious person.
Most of what we consume is organic, and she does extensive research on many things before deciding it is safe to eat/do/use/interactwithatall.
So, as you would expect, the possibility of such an outbreak has her rather...worried.

This worry has....escalated even more, as it has been announced that there are cases of the virus in the next town over from where I happen to reside.     So, what does she do?

She rummages through the closet until she comes across this half crumpled bottle of concentrated garlic fluid stuff, specifically made to drive away mosquitoes.        Another proven function of this liquid is its power to drive away neighbors, friends, and just about anything that has a pulse.
Seriously.  This stuff is HARSH.      Even though it's all natural and such, the SMELL of garlic will drive you insane...for about 30 minutes.

Now, because this has been sprayed across the entirety of the yard, I would like you to keep in mind what I said last.        It only drives you insane....for about 30 minutes.

The reason for this being such a short lived nuisance is that it kind of has a...skunk effect,
After about 30-45 minutes, you begin to forget that anything even smells of garlic.

So, anyway,

I COULD REEK OF GARLIC AND NOT KNOW IT.

FEAR MY PRESENCE.
